Today, I'm going to show you how to study with Gemini. This is a real pro tip, and I've packed everything in, so pay close attention. The way you study is about to change completely.

Have you ever heard of CoT, or Chain of Thought? It's okay if you haven't. It's the hottest concept right now among people savvy with AI, known as the key secret to making AI smarter. But let's be honest, for those of us who don't know how to code, even the name sounds a bit intimidating.

In today's video, I'll show you the entire process from A to Z of how I use Google Gemini to play around with and learn this complex AI concept in a fun and easy way. This isn't just a video to convey information. It's a proposal for a new 'learning method' in the age of AI.

By the end of this video, you will not only have an innovative study method to make any new knowledge your own with Gemini, but you will also have a perfect understanding of what CoT is. The era of learning AI with AI starts right now.

  1. Getting Tutored by Gemini (Learning the CoT Concept)

All learning begins with finding a good teacher. I assigned Gemini the role of a top AI expert and requested a one-on-one private tutoring session just for me.

"You are a top professor teaching AI at Stanford University. From now on, think of me as your student. Explain the concept of 'Chain of Thought (CoT)' in the simplest way possible, based on the latest academic papers, so that even a non-developer with a humanities background can have a 'eureka' moment. Instead of a difficult analogy, it would be even better if you could explain it using the metaphor of a 'cooking recipe.'"

I went beyond just asking for information; I assigned a persona, specified my knowledge level, and even designated an analogy. Look at the results. Gemini began to explain calmly and logically, just like a real professor. It brilliantly analogized CoT as 'an AI reading a recipe (the problem-solving process) out loud step-by-step before making a difficult dish (the question).' While past AIs would just hand you the finished dish, an AI using CoT organizes its thought process as it cooks—"First, I'll prep the ingredients, then I'll make the sauce..."—which increases the probability of success with more complex dishes.

From a PM's perspective, this gives an important hint about how to collaborate with AI. It means we can now not only ask for the final output but also discuss and review the process of reaching that result together. For now, the concept understanding is a complete success.

  1. Checking My Knowledge (Custom True/False Quiz from AI)

A great teacher doesn't just stop after explaining a concept. They always check if the student has understood it properly. I gave Gemini the role of a 'quiz master.'

"Thank you for the explanation, Professor. To check if I've understood the CoT concept we just covered, please create 5 True/False questions for me. Make the first question very easy, but please increase the difficulty for the later ones, making them trickier or requiring me to apply the concept to solve them."

Gemini immediately generated 5 custom True/False questions.

  1. CoT is a technology that speeds up the AI's response time. (False) In fact, the thinking process can slow it down. This is a basic concept check.
  2. CoT prompting increases the likelihood that an AI will find and correct its own logical errors, but it can also lead to an even more incorrect answer if the initial prompt points it in the wrong direction. (True) A very high-level application question that asks about both its advantages and limitations.

What do you think? These are well-designed questions that go beyond simple concept verification and make me think about the strengths and weaknesses of CoT. Through the quiz, I was able to gain a deeper and more multi-faceted understanding of CoT.

  1. Auditory Learning (The Potential and Limits of Audio Overview)

Taking it a step further, I wanted to use this tutoring session during my downtime—learning by listening during my commute or while working out. Another Google service, NotebookLM, has an amazing feature called Audio Overview, which turns text into something like an AI podcast.

So, I made the same request to Gemini. "Please summarize our entire conversation about CoT so far into a 5-minute podcast script. Then, generate an audio file so I can listen to it immediately with the Audio Overview feature."

Gemini did an excellent job of creating the script. It was very natural, formatted as a Q&A between me and the AI professor. However, unfortunately, the Audio Overview feature doesn't seem to be fully integrated into the Gemini app itself yet. It took a very long time to generate the audio file, and the result was not satisfactory.

From a PM's perspective, this shows that Google's various AI features are still fragmented. But on the other hand, it's also a strong indicator that all these features will soon be integrated into Gemini. I'll show you more about this 'Audio Overview' later in a video about NotebookLM.

  1. Visual Learning (Infographic Visualization)

If auditory learning is still a work in progress, we can turn to visual learning. Sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand words. For a PM like me with a design background, visualization is the most familiar way to learn.

"Create an infographic that allows non-experts to understand the core concept, working principle, and advantages of CoT at a glance. Make it in a simple, intuitive style, and use my channel's main color, orange, as an accent."

The result was truly amazing. Gemini visualized the core flow of CoT—'Question → Chain of Thought (Step 1, Step 2...) → Final Answer'—in a very clean diagram, using the orange accent color I requested. With this single image, a concept that felt complicated was suddenly perfectly organized in my mind.

  1. The Ultimate Study Method? (Failure of Infographic + Q&A Feature)

Now, this is where I used my PM imagination. I tried to apply the concept of 'Vibecoding,' which is central to my channel. "Turn this infographic image itself into an 'interactive webpage' where I can click on a part I'm curious about, and the AI will explain that part in more detail." I was imagining the ultimate study method: a 'living textbook' where my visual aids and the AI could communicate in real time.

But... this one was a failure, unfortunately. Gemini politely declined, saying, "Creating a webpage by adding interactive features to an image is currently beyond my capabilities." It seems AI hasn't yet reached the point where it can perfectly combine images and code to create a complex interactive app 'in one go.' However, I'm confident this is a future that will be possible within a few months.

Conclusion: The Paradigm of Learning is Shifting

So, what did you think? Today, we saw how to use Gemini not just as a simple search tool, but as a personal tutor, a custom quiz maker, and a visual designer. Of course, there were clear limitations, like audio generation and interactive app creation. But what's certain is that AI is fundamentally changing the paradigm of 'learning.'

We no longer need to struggle with rote memorization. We can leave vast amounts of information to the AI. Instead, what has become far more important is our ability to ask the right questions to understand the essence of a concept, internalize knowledge through quizzes, and structure it with infographics—in other words, the ability to 'play with knowledge.'

I am certain that the way we learn will fundamentally, and much more enjoyably, change because of AI. AI is the most powerful tool to transform boring memorization subjects into exciting subjects of inquiry.
